This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Retail Floor Manager oversees and manages all Sky Ranch retail outlets from a guest-facing position located at the Van, Texas facility. The major areas of responsibility include but are not limited to overseeing customer service and guest experience in the store, ensuring store is clean and organized, managing the online store, training, restocking, and receiving and preparing products for sale. This position supports the ministries of Sky Ranch and helps exceed guest expectations through exciting merchandise and retail options before, during, and after their Sky Ranch experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hire and provide direction and supervision of direct reports (primarily summer staff); develop and communicate goals and objectives; monitor and provide constructive feedback and direction to direct reports.
Conduct regular meetings with store staff to ensure guests are adequately served while visiting; continually trains staff: offering excellent customer service; product knowledge; cleanliness; and point-of-sale system operational skills.
Learn and implement industry best practices for customer services techniques and expectations.
Receive and prepare products for sale.
Develop and implement retail processes and procedures, utilizing retail best practices.
Oversee completion of daily opening and closing procedures checklist. Ensure merchandise is organized and displayed in a professional and appealing manner. Arrange merchandise displays, rotating and rearranging as necessary to create an inviting environment for guests. Clean and set up store. Manage floor pricing and sales.
Maintain awareness of retail’s daily gross sales and profitability, operate stores to remain within sales and expense budgets. Maintain retail price structure versus cost in all retail outlets.
Order/obtain necessary product. Inspect inventory levels. Prepare and approve Purchase Order requisitions for inventory and supply purchases related to retail.
Effectively arrange retail items to create a fun and enticing area that is conducive to shopping.
Manage and fulfill online store and orders. Maintain online store presence including photos and adjusting offerings as necessary.
Continually review and assess optimal additional outlets on Van property for retail sales.
Communicate with the Director of Retail through required monthly updates, financial reports, and monthly, semester and yearly statistical data.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Texas Department of Health, ACA, and OSHCOM regulations and guidelines.
Perform other duties as required.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Handling cash in retail outlets at Van. Managing inventory and budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree in business preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Three years of retail or purchasing management.
KNOWLEDGE
In-depth understanding of the field of retail, marketing and/or purchasing.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Circuitree’s Sales Link software preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to carry a minimum of 25 pounds, and push up to 50 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination, including: Reaching, bending and stooping frequently.
Requires physical agility, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladders.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends; must be able to work overtime as needed. Working weekends is required during summer camp season.
Works indoors in normal office environment majority of the time. However, must be able to stand long-term and walk long distances as necessary to cover retail shifts.
Some exposure to physical risk typical for working with boxed inventory. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slipping and tripping.
Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car, and some overnight stays including weekends.
