Position Overview: As a Retail Associate at Paws and Claws Depot, you will be the face of our store, helping customers find the best products for their pets, answering questions, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires passion for animals and a desire to assist pet families with their needs.

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented Sales Associate/Animal Care Specialist to join our team! As a Sales Associate, you will assist customers with their shopping needs and ensure an excellent shopping experience. Responsibilities may include working the register, stocking shelves, processing inventory, and maintaining the store’s appearance. The animal Care Specialist role of the job will include cleaning a variety of animal habitats, feeding a variety of animals, and ensuring the health and well-being of all animals in the store. The ideal candidate will have previous experience caring for animals in a personal or professional role and previous experience in customer service, inventory, and knowledge of cash register operation.

Responsibilities

Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping

Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures.

Answer questions about product benefits and uses, ensuring customers make informed choices

Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer sales.

Collect payments by cash and credit card

Issue receipts and refunds to customers

Take added responsibility for stocking, inventory, and store maintenance.

Maintain clean and organized shelves, displays, and stockrooms

Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.

Develop and maintain solid product knowledge in order to best help customers with their selections.

Monitor live animal health and care for animals in the store, ensuring they are fed and comfortable

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively

Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service

Willingness to work well in a team environment

Ability to quickly and accurately work a register

Willingness to work a flexible schedule
