Summary
Receives cash from customers or employees in payment for goods or services by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Computes or recomputes bills, itemized lists, and tickets showing the amount due.
Makes changes, accepts checks, and issues receipts or tickets to customers.
Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions.
Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand.
Quotes price and describes features of items for which money is received.
Gives cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise.
Operates cash register by passing price-coded items across electronic scanner to record prices, compile printed list, and display the cost of customer purchases, tax, and rebates on the monitor screen.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Stone Edge Order processing systems and Email Contact Management systems.
