Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Retreat & Development Manager performs the operational management of the Retreat & Conference Program, including program design, booking, facilitation, invoicing, and program evaluation. Additional duties include development related tasks such as marketing, fundraising, and public relations for the organization. The major responsibilities of this position include the following but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
Build and maintain a consistent client base for Pathfinder Ranch rental programs
Book, host, and manage client groups
Create and implement public relations, fundraising, and marketing materials and initiatives
Develop and coordinate new programs and special events
Create and coordinate daily and seasonal program schedules
Aid in creating and maintain budgets
Personnel recruitment, selection, orientation, evaluation, scheduling and management
Continual evaluation of programs and resources
Maintain accurate program records and logs
Ensure the security and safety of camp grounds, facilities, and program equipment associated with the summer camp program
Coordinate with other department employees and managers as needed
Disseminate all pertinent information to department employees
Ongoing communication with the Executive Director for policy and standards direction, departmental development and relevant business
Inventory and order equipment as needed
Provide positive public relations on behalf of Pathfinder Ranch and serve as the liaison between the Ranch and client groups
Make public presentations and attend special events on behalf of Pathfinder Ranch
Comply with Health and Fire Department regulations, organizational policies and accreditation standards
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Exhibit the ability to work well within the Pathfinder Ranch organization and with other employees
Must be self-motivated and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner
Previous work experience within an organized camp, outdoor education program or similar setting
Extensive knowledge and experience with rentals and development initiatives
Must be proficient with computers and the use of Microsoft Office software
Able to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing)
Able to effectively supervise staff
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
Hold and maintain current child and adult First Aid, CPR and AED certifications from a nationally recognized provider
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years supervisory experience in a camp setting
Bilingual or multilingual
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or related work experience
Physical Requirements
Lift and carry 30 lbs. with reasonable accommodations
Work a varied shift schedule in excess of 10 hours per day
Traverse several miles per day on steep and uneven terrain in a variety of weather conditions.
Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
