The Revenue Cycle Coordinator is responsible for the billing, collections and other assigned finance activities, such as payroll and payables for Medicare and other payors. This position will maintain documentation in our Electronic Health Record System (HCHB), and other financial systems for accurate tracking of collections and finance activities for reporting purposes.
Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility for the timely billing to Medicare and Medicare Advantage for the assigned service lines.
Obtains insurance authorizations and processes physician orders for In Home Outpatient services to allow for billing. Resolves billing issues.
Working with the Director, manage pre-billing audit workflow for Home Health. Work with designated clinical department staff to clear errors. Verifies that physician’s authorization and orders are on file before submitting final claims to Medicare. Ensures that appropriate authorization for each service provided to patients is on file for all other payors.
Knowledgeable and compliant with all agency and regulatory procedures including but not limited to Corporate Compliance, HIPAA and Medicare conditions of participation.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
Degree in finance or accounting with home health and hospice billing experience, or commensurate experience.
At least 3 years of finance department experience with a focus on Medicare billing for all services (home health, hospice, Part B) as well as other insurance billing, payroll and payables.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
