Scope of Duties: As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our practice. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the healthcare industry, medical billing, and account management. The Revenue Cycle Specialist ensures that client questions are answered in a timely fashion, researches the status of individual claims, and works in collaboration with the team to improve medical billing performance. The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for recommending and implementing improvements to current processes based on client and business needs with input from other team members and leaders.

Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing and have experience with working with third party payers.
Prior experience with physical therapy preferred but not required.
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT guidelines preferred but not required.
Knowledge of insurance reimbursement practices and overall thorough understanding of revenue cycle management (RCM)
Excellent customer/client service skills
Strong computer skills, able to use and navigate in excel, basic formulas and utilize various software systems such as an EMR (Prompt/WebPT) and clearing houses (Office Ally, ClaimMD, TriZetto).
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, leadership, and colleagues.
Self-Motivated and able to work independently as needed.
Ensures work product is accurate and complete.
Strong communication skills to provide clear instructions and ability to maintain professionalism in both written and oral form.

What You’ll Do
Maintain client relationships and going above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service.
Display clear professional and respectful spoken/written communication via video/phone/ and/or email.
Take ownership of client-specific projects including claims research, running reports, and analyzing billing trends
Manage and monitor key revenue analysis by tracking client’s activity against financial goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Review and research with the billing team outstanding accounts and payment discrepancies for resolution.
Engage in researching payer websites/payer policies and other reputable online resources to assist as needed with claim/account resolution.
Monitor AR details/reports to identify aging and payer trends including unbilled claims including but not limited to managing reporting as requested.
Collaborate with the billing team to review credit balances and/or refund reporting.
Support the billing team as needed to review correspondence and EOBs/ERAs for account audits, refund requests, and outside collection activity.
Ability to navigate multiple software PM/EHR systems at once including payer/vendor portals and the Microsoft Teams platform.
Attend seminars and insurance in service meetings/webinars and other educational activities to stay current on industry standards and practices.
Performs related work as required including but not limited to special projects.
Maintain the strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and client requirements.
