    Job Description

    RCR Manufacturing Solutions is currently seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join our team.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Quality Control Specialist include the following but other duties may be assigned.

    1. Conduct inspections of components to ensure compliance with all specifications.
    2. Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines and develop intricate programs using GD&T accurately.
    3. Validate CMM probes, create customized probes, configure probe changer, and establish new calibration procedures.
    4. Analyze inspection results to determine adherence to requirements on drawings and possess knowledge of GD&T principles (e.g., True Position, Profile, MMC/LMC, Circularity, Cylindricity, Straightness, Flatness, Concentricity, Runout, Perpendicularity, Parallelism, Symmetry, and others).
    5. Utilize various manual measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore micrometers, test/dial indicators, thread plug/ring gauges, and handheld measuring devices.
    6. Perform calibration on all manual measuring tools according to internal and manufacturing standards.
    7. Utilize vision-based equipment such as Optical Comparators, Microscopes, or 2D profilers for part measurement or evaluation of part characteristics.
    8. Utilize formtracer, surface roughness tester, roundness tester, and other lab equipment for evaluation purposes.
    9. Prepare necessary inspection records for both company and customer requirements, including In Process Inspection Reports (IPIR), First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, Capability Studies, and more. Accurately complete all required paperwork.
    10. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and adherence to current quality standards.
    11. Effectively communicate inspection results with co-workers and supervisors.
    12. Apply basic statistical techniques to evaluate measurement data trends.
    13. Possess a foundational understanding of machining processes to effectively communicate findings to the production floor.
    14. Provide training on inspection techniques and tools when necessary.
    15. Ensure proper filing of inspection results on the company server.
    16. Maintain cleanliness and organization of machines and work area at all times.
    17. Perform basic weekly and daily maintenance of CMM machines.
    18. Adhere to all safety and quality system requirements.
    19. Facilitate good feedback and promote effective communication with other inspectors from multiple shifts, programmers, and machinists.
    20. Embrace a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
    21. Navigate the QC lab database proficiently.

    7. Training will be provided on company computer systems and the PCDMIS CMM and CMM Manager software as necessary.

    Education and/or Experience

    1. High School diploma or equivalent.
    2. College or technical degree is preferred (previous work experience will be considered).
    3. Five years of prior experience operating CMMs.
    4. Advanced programming and operation experience using PCDMIS driven CMMs (experience with CMM Manager, Camio, or Calypso will be considered).

    Language Skills

    1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Reasoning Ability

    1. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
