POSITION OVERVIEW:
Riddell is seeking a passionate individual to join the Marketing & Communications (MarCom) team as our summer intern. This small, but mighty in-house team services stakeholders across the business, including Executives, Sales, Apparel and Consumer Products, as well as providing support to external clients. You will be an integral part of the team, learning about different types of projects from conception through final execution. Day-to-day activities will include writing, research, proofing, offering input to integrated marketing campaigns and digital/social media support. Our intern needs to be ready to learn, organized, detail-oriented and preferably interested in the sports industry, particularly football.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Support digital marketing strategy and execution
Create social media campaigns and content mapping, including writing copy and asset ideation, for organic and paid platforms
Assist with planning and coordination for events, tradeshows and video shoots
Write communications materials, such as newsletters, blogs and program overviews
Support development of internal communications strategy and execution
Compile daily media monitoring reports for company-wide circulation
Contribute to Riddell’s good-for-the-game initiative, the Smarter Football program, through application evaluations, digital support and shoot planning or execution
Support project management process and digital organization
Support general MarCom activities, such as partnership activations and catalog execution
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Technical Skills
College student or recent graduate majoring in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Sports Management or related field, with internship experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience using social media platforms
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of how to operate discreetly with proprietary company information and materials
Maintain a high level of professionalism and is comfortable in virtual & in-person office environment
Character
Self-starter who can take direction and contribute ideas
Able to work independently and as a part of our team
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks successfully to meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
