A Rigging Specialist will be responsible for setting up and repairing rigging for the movement of heavy equipment. Employee will also be required to prepare the materials before loading, set up the rigging equipment, operate heavy equipment machinery, and dismantle the rigging after the job. The employee will also be required to communicate with the Project Manager(s), General Forman and Superintendents to ensure compliance with state safety regulations. At times, employee will be required to assist other facets of our business.
Qualifications:
· Experience working in an industrial environment
· In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, rigging equipment and heavy machinery
· 3+ years working as a rigger
· Minimum Level 1 NCCCO Certification
· Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
· Certification to operate forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts and Broderson Cranes
· CDL License with a clean driving record
· Communicate effectively with customers, vendors and workers · Ability to make quick decisions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
· Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved.
· Setting, aligning, and leveling heavy equipment machinery.
· Selecting the appropriate rigging gear.
· Preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
· Inspecting rigging before final use.
· Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment.
· Maneuvering loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand.
· Ability to move heavy equipment through narrow openings and doors.
· Ensuring compliance with state and company safety procedures.
· Communicating with the construction team.
· Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections.
· Resolve problems when they arise
Physical Demands:
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, driver use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50-75 pounds.
Work Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; risk of electrical shock; fumes or airborne particles; Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy spring, summer, fall and winter weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
When working on site, you will be required to wear common protective or safety equipment, such as but not limited to the following safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats.
