Position Summary

The Risk Administrator (Construction Services) is responsible for supporting the risk management processes required for each project life cycle. The incumbent must manage all aspects of risk management administration and know all contract terms and risk administration requirements, and ensures all applicable items are properly agreed to and documented. This position is also responsible for assisting the Company's risk management and insurance objectives and will direct appropriate insurance coverage for all customers and projects. The Risk Administrator will work closely with operations, project management, safety, human resources, legal, estimating, and risk management to protect the Company's assets and minimize liability.

******Risk Administration Duties/Responsibilities** :

• Identifies risk and conveys risk to management with suggested resolution and mitigation strategies
• Communicates risk management information to all stakeholders
• Understands and provides insurance information on new projects
• Follows up on contract executions and required paperwork
• Ensures the project closeout process is completed timely and accurately
• Works with Accounting on risk submission and coordination
• Manages subcontracts on all projects
• Provides advice, guidance, and direction to carry out risk management administration consistent with Company established policies
• Is proactive and current on all matters pertaining to budget, schedule, document management, and procurement, and guides team accordingly
• Escalates critical and/or sensitive issues to management with recommendation for resolution
• Reviews insurance requirements and identifies coverage issues for company and subcontractors
• Calculates insurance rates based on billing
• Tracks down issues with customers and subcontractor insurance issues (e.g., types of coverage, additional insureds, endorsements, amounts of coverage, etc.)
• Ensures jobs are properly closed out from an insurance standpoint
• Ensures all pre-qualification process are established, defined, and followed
• Ensures all applicable licenses and registrations are obtained and maintained
• Ensures all legal default remedies are known and followed, such as preliminary notices
• Ensures all project documents align and conform with applicable state or county laws and regulations

Other Duties/Responsibilities

• Endeavors to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the accounting and finance fields.
• Be willing to take on any special projects or assignments as assigned by management
• Perform other duties as required by circumstances or assigned by the CFO

Skills and Abilities

Education:

Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

|

5 years related experience in contract administration.

1 year of experience in the construction industry.

Computer Skills:

|

Proficient with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products, utilizing a PC, cell phone, and company communication tools (e.g. e-mail, internet, etc.)

Certifications & Licenses:

|

Paralegal certificate a plus.

Other Requirements:

|

Working knowledge of the construction industry and contracting practices

Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines

Must be able to receive instruction and supervision.
