As a Commercial Tire Technician/Mobile Road Service tech, you will perform Tire service on all highway equipment, from Light Trucks to Commercial trucks, industrial, and O.T.R. tires. This role involves physical tasks such as lifting heavy tires, working in various weather conditions, and potentially working in confined spaces. Tires may need to be removed, repaired, mounted, and switched on various wheel types.
The Tire Technician will complete work orders in detail, including, but not limited to, work performed on the customer truck, the location of the work, the truck number, Tire size and DOT ID, the disposition of all tires, and the time on the job.
The Tire Technician must be able to recognize and explain the reason for any work that is performed on the vehicle.
As a Tire Technician, you play a crucial role in ensuring the company's service truck is always in good working order. You will report to the commercial truck center supervisor and work closely with the office staff. Your vigilance in reporting mechanical problems immediately and completing service truck maintenance reports daily is highly valued and integral to our operations.
At General Tire Service, safety and compliance are our top priorities. As a Tire Technician, you will identify all tires brought in from service calls and report their disposition/conditions to the dispatch office. You will also be required to complete Waste Tire Manifests as needed, ensuring we always fully comply with regulations.
