    Job Description

    KPFF’s Idaho Division Transportation Group is seeking a Roadway/Civil Engineer to lead transportation projects that shape the region’s infrastructure. You will oversee technical aspects of project delivery, manage project scope and budget, and work closely with clients, including ITD, local transit agencies, and municipalities. This role allows you to apply your expertise to meaningful projects and contribute to Idaho’s infrastructure and sustainability goals.

    • Lead the design, planning, and execution of transportation engineering projects, ensuring adherence to WSDOT and local standards.
    • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, coordinating with teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and ensuring that project goals are met or exceeded.
    • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and technical excellence.
    • Conduct technical analyses and oversee the preparation of construction documents that meet Washington’s environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
    • At least four years of experience in civil/transportation engineering, with a proven record of project management in Idaho.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
    • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MicroStation/OpenRoads; experience with Idaho-specific tools and standards is essential.
    • Knowledge of Idaho’s regulatory environment, including SEPA and sustainability practices.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills, with experience managing regional projects from inception to completion.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or conducting site visits.
    • Capacity to move around project sites, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain.
    • Occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds of equipment or materials.
