Job Description

AECOM is seeking a talented Roadway/Transportation Design Engineer to join a dynamic and highly technical transportation team of planners, engineers, and technicians in the Chicago, IL office.

As a Roadway / Highway Engineer, you will be an active member during design on our transportation projects for a variety of clients in public and private industries. You will also have the opportunity to be part of cutting-edge design projects that utilize the latest technologies for delivering design services to clients.

Responsibilities:

• Engages with local team for design of interchanges, highways, urban corridors, and roadway drainage design
• Bridge/culvert hydraulic analyses
• Scour analysis
• Erosion and sedimentation control
• Other related design tasks
• Plan production and development of bid sets
• Coordinating with other disciplines
• Obtaining permits required from regulatory agencies.
• Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub-consultants in the various assignments.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 4+ years of previous design experience and geometric design on transportation projects including Schematic Development and/or Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)
• IL Professional Engineering (PE) License
• Good communication skills and ability to work as a team
• Experience on multidisciplinary project with subconsultants
• Experience with Open Roads, AutoCad 3D, GeoPak Drainage, SWMM, HY-8, and HEC Programs
• Experience with SUDA preferred
• Familiarity with MS Office 2010 software (Excel, Word, Project) is required
