    This is a Registered Nurse who provides specialized patient care services in wound, ostomy, and continence care for our patients.  They are part of a multidisciplinary approach for the treatment and management of disorders affecting the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems.  Their scope of care usually involves the treatment of ostomies, stomas, acute and chronic wounds, and skin breakdown due to urinary and/or fecal incontinence.

    Required Skills

    • Assess and define a plan of care that will quickly and safely heal various types of wounds, including surgical openings, ulcers, bed sores, feeding tube sites and abscesses.

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED:

     

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Licensed to practice as a RN in the State of California
    • BSN degree
    • Graduate of a Wound Ostomy, Continence Nursing Society (WOCN) accredited Enterostomal Therapy Nursing Education Program. 
    • Minimum two years of recent acute medical/surgical nursing experience. 
    • Minimum one year recent acute care Enterostomal and Wound Therapy Nursing experience

     

    PREFERRED:

     

    • MSN degree
