    GRAPHIC DESIGNER

    The Graphic Designer (GD) works with the assigned Art Director to assist and fulfill approved design work. GD also completes internal production requirements (copies and mechanicals) of layout and illustration.

    Knowledge of production processes, including but not limited to pre-press requirements, type specification, photo cropping, etc., and computer layout/illustration/pre-press, is important to this position. Reports to the Senior Art Director/Creative Director.

    Creative Support Completes all layout work/art assigned by the Art Director. Produces all artwork according to the Art Director’s specifications. Prepares proofs and mechanicals for review by Creative Director, assigned Art Director, Account Service personnel, and client. Confirms all production deadlines with Creative Director/Traffic Manager. Reviews all work for errors/omissions prior to turning in work for Creative/AE/Client approval. Makes all requested changes/corrections promptly and correctly.

    Production Support The Production Artist works with the creative staff and account services to assist and fulfill approved production of design work for grocery circulars and associated deliverables. The person in this position is responsible for revisions, preparing mechanical files for various print processes, preparing artwork, adapting designs, producing comps, and implementing design systems. Reports to the Circular Account Manager.

    This individual must have graphic design skills. He/she will be responsible for assisting in the final stages of various print work--pre-press, typography, layout, revisions, etc. Other technical duties may include scaling, cropping, retouching, repositioning and pre-flighting and uploading technical files and color profiles.

    The ideal candidate must have outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently to meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment where priorities may change rapidly.

    In this position, he or she will gain valuable knowledge from his or her team members and further develop skills to communicate design solutions from concept to fully realized client deliverables.

    DUTIES: • Makes all requested revisions/changes/corrections promptly and correctly • Generate mechanical files from approved comps • Maintains quality control by cross referencing files with production specifications, ensures all art will reproduce correctly on press and confirms that artwork is created/saved in the proper software application • Catalog jobs under agency standard filing system • Proper uploading/downloading process using FTP sites, servers and PDFs • Pre-flighting and preparation of projects before they go to print

    Communication Ability: Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

    Computer Skills: Must have advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign). Must be willing to learn other programs as needed.
