Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join one of our long-term clients’ team at (2) of their properties in New Hope, MN (55428) and Minneapolis, MN (55248). The ideal candidate will have 2 years’ experience in residential maintenance, have experience with unit turns, have knowledge of basic maintenance, be self-motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day and is self-sufficient. will have experience with boilers (boilers license highly preferred). This role is contract to hire 30-90 days in length before conversion.

This role will be working with (2) affordable housing properties site 1: built in 1970, 140 income restricted units/3 stories and Site 2: built in 1967, 87 income restricted units/3 stories.

Salary: $26-$30/hour DOQ - This role is contract to hire 30-90 days in length before conversion.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 830am – 5pm – must be available for apartment turns. No on-call requirements during the contracted period.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

• Provide a variety of skilled building maintenance including repairs to sinks, windows, floors, and other parts of the building.
• Maintains the grounds as assigned which may include trash pick-up, shoveling, and sweeping curb/dumpster area, maintaining landscape beds and other areas.
• Preparation of vacant units for occupancy which may include cleaning responsibilities.
• Install, repair (including soldering) and maintain various plumbing; heating and air conditioning fixtures; perform metal fabrication and welding.
• Installation and repair of major and minor appliances (e.g. washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwashers, etc.).
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues, diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments to ensure issues are resolved.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as needed.
• Complete minor work orders such as snake toilets/drains, repair/replace leaking faucets, remove/replace caulking, replace different components of toilets, adjust/replace door closures, and replace locks, deadbolts, and passage locks.
• Always demonstrate courteous and efficient customer service.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 2 years’ experience in residential maintenance.
• Boilers experience is required, certification is highly preferred.
• Be able to pass a Kari Koskinen background check.
• Experience with boilers (boilers license required).
• Have a valid driver's license and valid auto insurance – as this role will be roving between properties.
