    Rupp Seeds is an independent Ohio-based seed company that has been in business for 75 years with third generation family ownership and management. The company markets a full line of grain and forage seed products that are uniquely suited for the tri-state area of Ohio, Michigan and Indiana – a product portfolio that is highly competitive with national brands.

     

    OPPORTUNITY

    Rupp Seeds has an opening for a FULL-TIME DISTRICT SALES MANAGER (DSM) in northeast Ohio.

    A successful DSM develops seed sales through effective product placement meeting the cropping practices and market opportunities of customers, while also earning their trust through long-term relationships. As a DSM, you will promote Rupp brand products (seed corn, soybeans, wheat, alfalfa and forage products) in both farmer direct sales and dealer business channels.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Represent the company and promote its products as a professional seed sales representative with responsibility for effective performance of territory sales functions in both retail and dealer business channels.

    Establish and maintain trusting relationships with customers, potential customers, and industry representatives.

    Develop and maintain a working knowledge of grain and forage crop production, crop management practices and market opportunities.

    Develop and maintain a solid understanding of Rupp products and how they fit the cropping practices and market opportunities of customers.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Frequent travel within the territory is required throughout the year, with occasional overnight stays.

     

     

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    Previous sales experience is preferred, and ag-related sales experience is considered a plus.

    Excellent interpersonal skills.

    Good verbal, written and presentation skills.

    Proven problem solver.

    Time and territory management abilities.

    Proficient in the use of Windows PCs, Microsoft Office and other Windows-based software.

     

    COMPENSATION

    Salary plus sales performance incentives.

    Benefits include healthcare options and a company matching 401K retirement plan.

     

    EXPENSES

    Company provides a vehicle and fuel card, laptop computer, cell phone and an apparel allowance.

    Other expenses are reimbursed upon receipt of an approved expense report.
