As our Co-Op Engineer, every day is a little different. You’ll be in our manufacturing plants working hands-on to conceptualize, design, build and upgrade machinery working as an entry-level engineer at Rust-Oleum.  As a future engineer, you will have opportunities to apply your education to drive improvements on the production lines, paint making equipment, processing systems, and/or perform capacity analysis and time studies.  Every day you will work alongside a cross-functional team that’s willing to help you learn and contribute as we take on plant and corporate challenges that impact our company’s bottom line. Many years after you finish this program, your work and legacy will remain. To thrive, you must be pursuing a college diploma in engineering.

Solving challenges is the very foundation of who we are. It all started when sea captain, Robert Fergusson, noticed that an accidental splash of fish oil had stopped the spread of corrosion on his rusty metal deck. He took that insight along with a whole lot of grit and founded Rust-Oleum in 1921.

The same passion that drove Fergusson to spend his next few years creating the world’s first rust-preventive paint still drives us today. When we see a problem, we work diligently until we’ve perfected a solution, which has led to some of the most cutting edge, durable and innovative products in the industry. Our creative and talented team of over 2,000 people across every corner of the world help us remain a global leader in protective paints and coatings for both home and industry.

As our Co-Op Engineer, you can expect:
