    Position: Counselor –full-time.

    Counseling Treatment Services

    Duties: Provide evidence-based substance use treatment services for male and female youth ages 13 to 17 who are experiencing alcohol or substance use problems. Provide individual, group, family counseling, relapse prevention and case management to participants who meet the diagnosis of substance use disorder.

New counselors receive training on all evidence-based practices and cutting-edge competencies in culturally-responsive, integrated mental health and substance use disorder treatment. As part of the clinical treatment team, the counselor will receive ongoing supervision, trainings and consultation in the delivery of services within a strength-based supportive environment. If LPC-A, SCAN provides free supervision and offers all program counselors opportunity to expand and grow within the agency’s multiple comprehensive programs. If LCDC-I, SCAN has HHSC approved Clinical Training Institute registered sites to provide Supervised Work Experience hours to Counselor Interns and supports professional development.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences.
    • Have an LCDC License, LCDC CI designation, or LPC-A.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
    • Good computer skills.
    • Valid TX driver’s license, good driving record and reliable transportation.
    • Transporting clients in own vehicle is required at times and compensated for mileage
    • Able to work flexible hours and weekends

    Salary range: $38,000-$48,000 annually depending on degree, experience, license and qualifications
