Intervention Specialist for the SCAN Alcohol Intervention Services (SAIS) Program. 2 Full Time Positions. The SAIS Program provides comprehensive alcohol misuse intervention services to students attending Texas A&M International University. Intervention specialists provide outreach, screening, evidence-based intervention sessions, and case management services to program participants. Intervention specialists also provide alcohol use and misuse prevention presentations and disseminate related prevention literature to university students. Primary responsibilities include:

1. Recruit, screen, and assess all participants in order to determine their needs and eligibility.
2. Provide intervention services to program participants including an evidence-based alcohol intervention program.
3. Conduct case management services by making regular contacts in-person, by phone, and/or virtually to monitor the progress of participants, make referrals for other services, and document all activities in participant charts. Minimum Qualifications: • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in the behavioral sciences or related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred. • At least 6 months to 1 year of work experience providing substance abuse prevention/intervention services to adolescents or adults is preferred. • Experience providing curriculum-based education lessons/sessions is preferred. • The ability to communicate effectively in English. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are preferred. • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current insurance.
