RETAIL ASSOCIATE DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Resort General Manager | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Part-Time
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Retail Associate will utilize their skills for displaying and promoting the latest and most popular items for resort guests. Organizational skills will aid in inventory and special-order management and tracking. A service heart and engaging personality will make the Retail Associate exceptional at anticipating guest preferences, delivering the individualized service so to enhance our exceptional guest experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITI ES
- Consistently provide individualized service to guests
- Prepare incoming inventory for sale (pricing, tagging, display)
- Coordinate and conduct weekly, monthly or quarterly inventories
- Educate and assist resort staff to enhance service, product knowledge and sales skills
- Build relationships amongst team members and other departments
- Utilize an exceptionally welcoming and timely special-order system
- Assist with conducting sales promotions and special events (trunk shows, holidays, etc.)
- Assist with internal sales competitions
- Stocking product
- Assist with training teammates on Alpen Grab-n-go and Alpen Market policies and procedures.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with guests and gains their trust and respect by using diplomacy and tact; ensures that guests are greeted and acknowledged; offers guests assistance as needed or requested
- Assist with store shrinkage procedures by ensuring that all merchandise used for display is properly handled and accounted for at all times
- Participate in merchandise sets, replenishment and recovery processes, pricing and signing execution, etc., to ensure that established presentation standards are met and maintained.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated previous Customer Service experience
- Previous hospitality experience would be preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-presented and professional appearance
- Competency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn on the job
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must have flexible hours
- Available to work on weekends and holidays
- Genuine service heart
- Creativity for display, communications, and promotions
- Plays an effective role in a team environment
- Conducts all business in an ethical manner
