  • Responsibilities

    The Metrology Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality and adherence to design specifications

    through the development and implementation of precise measurement plans. This role involves utilizing

    advanced metrology equipment and software to analyze product data, identify deviations, and contribute to

    process improvement initiatives. The Metrology Engineer will also provide guidance and oversight to the

    Metrology Technician.

    Develop and optimize measurement plans to ensure precise data capture and analysis.

    Collaborate with engineering teams to determine the necessary check gauges and fixtures for

    production processes.

    Design and calibrate complex gauges to ensure precise and reliable measurement capabilities.

    Conducts in-depth analysis of metrology scans using Polyworks and Verisurf to identify deviations

    from design specifications and generate detailed reports.

    Own and manage the entire calibration system, including calibration schedules, documentation, and

    equipment.

    Ensure compliance with calibration standards and regulations.

    Contribute to process improvement initiatives by analyzing metrology data to identify trends and root

    causes of quality issues.

    Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to inspect product, address quality

    concerns, and make suggestions for improvement.

    Provides guidance, mentorship, and oversight to the Metrology Technician.

    Maintains up-to-date knowledge of metrology best practices and industry standards.

    Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

    Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

    Proven experience in metrology engineering, including hands-on experience with metrology

    trackers such as FARO and Creaform MetraScan.

    Proven proficiency in metrology software, specifically Polyworks and Verisurf.

    Strong understanding of GD&T principles.

    Experience in calibration systems management

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical

    audiences.

    Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

    Leadership and mentoring abilities.

    Ability to stand for extended periods.

    Ability to lift and carry moderate weights.

    Manual dexterity required for operating metrology equipment.

    Visual acuity for inspecting devices and reading measurement instruments.

    Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, protective eye wear,

    and others as required.

    Exposure to noise from machinery and equipment.

    Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and lighting conditions.

    Automation Technician:

    As an Automation Technician you will be responsible for many aspects of this new automation system at TPI.

    Maintaining and troubleshooting the operation of automated systems, robots, including implementation of new recipes

    and routines. Data gathering and presentation will also be critical for the efficient operation of this system.

    Safety:

    Participate in site safety programs designed to assure safe working conditions and eliminate workplace

    accidents.

    Provide insight on workplace electrical safety standards

    Ensure automated systems safety interlocks are functioning properly

    Visible participant in the site safety program

    Technician Duties:

    Monitor, operate, maintain and, troubleshoot automated systems

    Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems as needed

    Ensure automated systems are operating efficiently as programmed

    Replace components and I/O sensors as necessary for line operation

    Logically troubleshoots and repairs the assembly line

    Assists in maintaining quality of finished product through proper machine operation

    Responsible for maintaining spare parts inventory with a proper cataloging of parts

    Provide a timely notification of maintenance issues and downtime

    Reviews line history and documentation to enhance line efficiencies

    Maintains and updates all equipment log books with accurate repair/adjustment information

    Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program for the equipment

    Maintains cleanliness of all equipment

    Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs

    Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules

    Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance

    Qualifications:

    Associates of Science Degree in a technical field from an accredited program

    5 years of experience in related industry

    Strong analytic skills are essential to understand automated systems and isolate problems

    Strong Math, Computer and Electronic Skills

    Ability to work with hand tools and various measurement instruments

    Knowledge of quality systems requirements, Quality System Regulation, ISO 9001
