Job Description
SGI Global is seeking a Affirmative Civil Enforcement (ACE) Investigator to supportthe United States Attorney's Office, Muskogee, OKto conduct thorough and systematic investigations related to civil actions or administrativeviolations within the jurisdictions of the USAO. Investigations may involve criminal violations, which arereferred to appropriate law enforcement officers and who the investigator may assist with in the courseof the criminal investigation.

Job Duties
- Working with the assigned AUSAs and/or supervisory attorneys, determines applicableadministrative statutory and regulatory law, and identifies possible violations or causes ofaction.
- Develops an understanding of all applicable federal, state, or local laws to the extent necessaryto make sound decisions on direction and scope of investigations. Determines proof required toassist in affixing legal responsibility for litigation, and devises methods for obtaining, preserving,and presenting evidence to greatest effect.
- Assists with determining the most efficacious methods for planning, scheduling, and conductinginvestigations, and identifies any resources that may be required.Refers evidence of criminal activities to appropriate criminal investigators or sworn lawenforcement officers.
- Performs a variety of ancillary investigation-related services in direct support oflitigation. Support activities include one or more of the following:
- At the direction of the AUSAs, initiates contacts with federal, state, and local officials, and otherorganizations and individuals related to the subject of investigation, for the purpose of gatheringfacts, obtaining statements, learning sequences of events, obtaining explanations and otherwiseadvancing investigative objectives.
- Examines books, ledgers, payrolls, cost reports, billingstatements, invoices, correspondence, computer date, and other records pertaining to thetransactions, events, or allegations under investigation.
- Establishes and/or verifies relationshipsamong all facts and evidence obtained or presented to confirm authenticity of documents,corroborate witness statements, and otherwise build proof necessary for successful litigation.
- In conjunction with AUSAs, utilizes laboratories and other forensic services to identifyhandwriting, fingerprints, questioned documents and substances, sound and video recordings,and other physical evidence. Arranges for secure store, preservations, organizations, andindexing of voluminous documentary evidence.
- Assists AUSAs with in-person and/or telephonic interviews of witnesses. Identifies the need forservice of warrants and subpoenas, and recommends to AUSAs to secure participation ofappropriate law enforcement agents in executions of same. Types hand scribed notes frominterview discussions.
- Coordinates surveillance of suspects with appropriate law enforcement/investigative agencies.
- Prepares interim and final reports on progress of investigations for use by AUSAs andsupervisory attorneys. Includes significant findings and conclusions, analysis of databases andpresentations of reports of said analysis, recommendations for additional investigative actions,and candid assessments of strengths and weaknesses of witnesses, documentary evidence, orother aspects of case.
- Assists in compilation of documents and physical evidence, and creation of charts, graphs,videotapes, and other audio-visual materials for use by AUSAs in motions and at trial. Providesadvice to AUSA on selection of witnesses and ensures their attendance through subpoena orotherwise. Testifies in court as required. Testimony is factual based upon their review andanalysis of data.
- Performs other related ACE investigator duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- At least five (5) years of demonstrated ability in a similar position. A law enforcement or relatedinvestigative exposure, preferable in Affirmative Civil Enforcement (ACE) is desired.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, with exceptionally advanced Microsoft Excel skills to include theuse of pivot tables, sorting and filtering, and formula that will assist in systematic assessmentsand calculations.
- Can make responsible decisions on short notice and adapt to unexpected developments.
- Valid driver's license and dependable vehicle.
