    Job Title: Shipping / Receiving Clerk

    Reporting relationship: Plant Manager

    Job Summary:

    An employee in this position is responsible for administrative duties for the warehouse and production facility.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other administrative duties may be assigned

    Administrative Responsibilities

    • Prepare records of orders shipped (make up bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges, keep files of shipping records)
    • Receive incoming shipments of materials or orders to the company (verify correctness of shipments against bills of lading, report damaged goods and shortages, routes good to the proper departments)
    • Receives, stores, and issues stock of materials and supplies while keeping stock area in a neat and orderly fashion. Maintains inventory records.
    • Assign worklist and schedules to shipping employees as directed by manager

    Perform other related administrative, workflow duties, and assignments as required.

    Education:

    Required - High School Graduate or GED

    Physical Demands and Physical Environment:

    The physical demands and physical environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    The employee must able to frequently stand up to two to three hours continuously. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb stairs, bend, and stoop. The employee must be able to get on and off lift equipment repeatedly throughout a day and reach or grasp orders. The employee is regularly required to lift 45 lbs minimum up to 60 lbs. by self and up to 120 lbs. In a “buddy” lift.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate verbally.

    While working in this position, the employee will be exposed to fabrication shop conditions including exposure to dirt, dust, and noise. Extremes of heat or cold are common as is exposure to solvents and electrical energy. Employees must work around machinery with moving parts and mobile vehicles as well as working outside receiving shipments or securing loads in all types of weather conditions. Employees work closely with others. Some overtime is required, depending on demand and management discretion.
