    Job Description

    1.      OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION:

    The Head of HR & Recruitment is responsible for employment policies and procedures, overseeing payroll and rewards and recognition programs as well as managing workplace safety initiatives. Along with administering employee-benefit programs, the Head of HR & recruitment role involves finding, screening, recruiting new job applicants and developing training and development programs for all employees.

    The Head of HR & Recruitment will manage the Skyborne assessment and selection process end-to-end for all new trainees. The role will ensure consistency of selection standards and an uninterrupted flow of candidates according to Skyborne and partner airline requirements.

    The Head of HR & Recruitment will be required to meet budget plans and targets set by the business for candidate recruitment.

    3.      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    1. Handling employment relations issues such as grievances and employee welfare.
    2. Leading the recruitment process, including selection and interviewing of candidates.
    3. Collaborating with other managers in the business, sometimes internationally, to ensure the smooth running of the company from a people perspective.
    4. Partnering with senior operational staff to establish and roll-out people-related strategy.
    5. Overseeing staff attendance and absence monitoring.
    6. Providing detailed HR reports to senior management teams.
    7. Administration of employee-related paperwork, such as employment contracts, new starter packs, or formal notices of termination.
    8. Leading new starter company inductions.
    9. Managing talent pools and succession plans to ensure the company can continue to operate in the future.
    10. Overseeing training and development of employees.
    11. Administering financial elements such as payroll, compensation and benefits, and pension schemes.
    12. Handling highly confidential information in an honest and trustworthy way.
    13. Be a single point of contact for all recruitment on a daily and weekly basis
    14. Work with Marketing/Sales Manager and Directors on future number requirements
    15. Ensure a standard process is applied across all recruitment delivering a consistent quality candidate experience
    16. Ensure Smart Recruiters is maintained and is current regarding all recruitment campaigns
    17. Monitor candidate responses to attraction campaigns and take action to address numbers where necessary
    18. Screen candidate CV's and update Smart Recruiters system accordingly
    19. Move candidates through the selection workflow, ensuring all candidates are communicated with at each stage
    20. Conduct assessment centers - deliver presentations, provide assessor support, coordinate other assessors as required and ensure candidates are treated fairly and with respect throughout the event
    21. Carry out a wash-up at the end of each event and agree successful candidates with Assessors
    22. Maintain up-to-date records for each event, and ensure appropriate communication is forwarded to each candidate
    23. Design and run skills training sessions for assessors
    24. Brief the assessment team and ensure they are kept up to date with any changes on the daily processes
    25. Supervise third party supplier arrangements (external assessors), including directing their activity as required and ensuring high standards
    26. Involvement in special projects as required

     

    4.      QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL QUALITIES:

    1. Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive
    2. People oriented and results driven
    3. Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
    4. Knowledge of HR systems and databases
    5. Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
    6. Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
    7. Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
    8.  In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
    9.  Previous recruitment, selection and assessment experience 
    10. Client relationship management
    11. Previous candidate management experience
    12. Excellent administration coordination
    13. Resilience and able to work under pressure
    14. Ability to recognize and deal with challenges promptly and efficiently
    15. Attention to detail
    16. Decision making
    17. Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
    18. IT literacy

    1. Accountable for the health and safety of all candidates, assessors and others during the selection process
    2. Maintaining high standards of data protection and candidate confidentiality, abiding by the relevant legislation (GDPR)

     

    8.      SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Effective safe communication with applicants, candidates, students and other departments (internal and external)
    2. Maintenance of all candidate data within the parameters of the GDPR framework, ensuring no infringements
    3. Ensure both own and the safety of other personnel in the working environment
    4. Perform tasks in compliance with regulations and company procedures
    5. Practice and promote the Company’s Safety policy and Just Culture
    6. Participate in safety briefings, meetings and events as appropriate
    7. Know their role in the company’s ERP
