    Position: Social Media Specialist (Parks Department)

    Location: Jonesboro, Arkansas Parks and Recreations Department

    Summary:
    The City of Jonesboro Parks Department is seeking a driven and creative Social Media Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and creating content for the Parks Department's social media accounts to engage with residents and promote our parks and recreational programs. This individual should have a passion for social media, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of social media trends and best practices.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Manage all social media accounts for the Parks Department, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
    2. Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement, followers, and reach.
    3. Create and schedule engaging content, including posts, graphics, videos, and stories.
    4. Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond in a timely manner.
    5. Collaborate with the Parks Department staff to create content that promotes park events, programs, and initiatives.
    6. Analyze social media data and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
    7. Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices.
    8. Attend park events and activities to capture content for social media.
    9. Work with local influencers and partners to expand the Parks Department's social media reach.
    10. Assist with other marketing and communications tasks as needed.

    Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
    2. 2+ years of experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand.
    3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    4. Proficient in social media management tools and analytics.
    5. Creative thinker with an eye for design and visual storytelling.
    6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    7. Knowledge of the parks and recreation industry is a plus.
    8. Available to work occasional evenings and weekends for park events and activities.
