    ROLE SUMMARY

    The aquatic manager at Solar Swim and Gym will be responsible for everything that is Aquatic. This includes overall management of the aquatic staff, the facility, safety and customer service as it relates to the aquatic environment. This role typically reports to the Swim School Director/President.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS

    o Represent the Philosophy of Solar Swim and Gym.

    o Be a role model for all teachers

    o Teach or be on deck 20-25 hours a week (mostly on deck).

    o Ensure lesson objectives adhere to Solar Swim and Gym procedures and methods as referenced in the Training Manual and during in service trainings.

    o Educate and enforce safety rules. Strive to prevent accidents, maintain discipline. Administer first aid in the event of injury.

    o Complete all paperwork as it pertains to student records and progress reports, move up policies and procedures.

    o Assist in maintaining a clean and safe pool environment for clients, staff, and general public.

    o Act as a company spokesperson at community events by educating potential clients and community members on water safety and drowning prevention.

    ADMINISTRATIVE:

    o Coordinate “all things swim” with the Business Office

    o Responsible for e-mail and phone communication with parents

    o Produce and communicate monthly memo to the swim department

    o Monitor and develop reports for the Swim School as it pertains specifically to workforce allocation and class enrollment

    o Produce and communicate the weekly report via designated communication platform

    o Review and approve hours for payroll

    o Managing enrollment and class scheduling

    o Any necessary customer communications that require special attention

    o Tracking and ensuring that staff certifications are kept on file and up to date

    Staff Management

    o Participate in hiring and training of all swim staff.

    o Ensure teachers adhere to Solar Swim and Gym procedures and methods as referenced in the Training Manual and during in service trainings.

    o Organize and schedule new teacher training as well as continued in service for teachers.

    o Supervise Deck leaders

    o Monitor and coordinate subs to ensure shift coverage as needed

    o Assure pre shift/post shift meetings are held

    o Communicate with sales department about changes needed in the schedule.

    o Coordinate with Swim School Director to organize and schedule new teacher training as well as continued in service for teachers.

    o Monitor the certification chart

    o Always strive to develop the team.

    o With the site leaders run daily shift meetings.

    o Weekly communication with each teacher

    o Conduct formal teacher evaluations semi annually

    o Complete weekly report.

    Facility

    o Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly pool maintenance to ensure a clean and safe pool environment for clients, staff, and general public.

    o Includes but not limited to water chemistry, equipment, chemicals, pool deck.

    o Ensure the water chemistry, equipment and chemicals are monitored and documented completely.

    Constantly stay abreast of industry trends and new stroke techniques.

    Knowledge of general safety rules and precautions related to a swimming pool environment.

    Must have professional demeanor and appearance.

    Excellent communication skills

    Must have ability perform the duties of a rigorous work schedule which includes lifting, loading, and unloading, and ability maneuver up to 40 lbs.

    Dependable motor vehicle transportation a must.

    Ability to work in and around swimming pools with exposure to chlorinated and chemically treated water.

    Knowledge of methods of rescue, life saving techniques, artificial respiration, and first aid a plus.

    Possessing certifications in the following:

    o Lifeguard Training

    o First Aid and AED

    o CPR Certification for the Professional Rescuer

    o ABA certificate is a plus
