  • Responsibilities

    SOS Personnel is urgently seeking to hire a Registered Dietician.

    The primary goal is:

    prevention of negative health outcomes for all Idaho National Guard service members, particularly those in at-risk status as it relates to diet and lifestyle.

    tp provide services to all members of the Idaho National Guard personnel interested in improving their overall personal wellness and physical fitness. The desired end state is an overall decreased risk of chronic disease (coronary artery disease, stroke, diabetes, and some specific cancers), illness, infection, injury, and trauma through behavior modification.

    The ideal candidate will provide:

    nutritional, physical fitness, and wellness education as well as individual improvement guidance to Idaho National Guard Members and personnel.

    Period of Performance: One Base Year of 12 months and one optional year (2 years total).

    Place of Performance:

    Gowen Field, Idaho, 83705

    Hours: 80 hours per two weeks. (Due to the need to work with Drill Status Guardsman (part-time), work schedules will need to be adjusted to allow for working during drill weekends and annual training weeks).

    Requirements:

    A complete background check

    At least a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics and successful completion of dietetic internship is required.

    Certification as a Registered Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics;

    and eligibility for licensure in the State of Idaho as a Dietitian in accordance with Idaho Code (Licensure MUST be obtained prior to appointment).

    Experience with eating disorder, disordered eating, chronic dieting, and body image work.

    Intuitive Eating Certification (Preferred).

    Familiar with Social Determinants of Health, Health at Every Size, Intuitive Eating, and weight inclusive care.

    Familiarity with the military body composition requirements and culture.

    Telehealth experience (preferred).

    Demonstrate sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that they can relate to a variety of SMs from diverse backgrounds.

    Exemplary skills in presenting/facilitating a wide variety of training to diverse audiences.

    Strong command of Microsoft Office and ability to produce deliverables that carry a "stamp of excellence."

    Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

    Ability to travel up to 20%, on average. An uncommon tour of duty may be required.

    Flexibility with working schedule is mandatory because it impacts the ability to support and serve military

    Responsibilities:

    Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for clients, taking into account their health history, dietary preferences, and specific goals.

    Develop personalized meal plans and provide dietary recommendations tailored to each client's needs and objectives.

    Monitor and track client progress, making necessary adjustments to nutrition plans as required.

    Educate clients on proper nutrition, portion control, and healthy eating habits.

    Stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in nutrition, and incorporate evidence-based practices into client recommendations.

    Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
