Job Goal: The Music Education Teacher is to treat each child with love recognizing that each and every one is a child of God. The Bible instructs us to make music within our heart and to praise our Creator with song. We want our students to enjoy singing of love. The music education teacher should plan a curriculum comprised of the principles of music while creating a positive, enjoyable classroom environment. Preschool is an opportunity to develop skills that will be used throughout the life of each student. The music education teacher will enhance a child’s self-esteem and emotional development through music education.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program for preschool and pre-kindergarten students that coordinates, when applicable, with St. Anne’s educational units

Be responsible for developing and maintaining an organized classroom that offers an effective learning environment

Provide a warm and loving atmosphere for students

Keep the safety of our students as a top priority

Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings

Complete a music education evaluation for each student

Communicate to Director/Parents regarding lack of development and progress in a student

Plan (Mother’s and Father’s programs, Christmas) and attend (Orientation, etc.) special events sponsored by the school

Assist the Aide before and after music education classes by preparing crafts

Perform any other duties as requested by the Director

Teacher will work two days a week teaching 18 months through 5 years old classes of 6 to 10 students. Regular attendance is expected; 2 days paid leave is allowed each school year. St. Anne’s follows the City of Salem School system in regards to holidays and snow days. Contract will include 5 teacher work days (4 before school begins in August/September and 1 after school ends in May).
