    Snapology STEM Instructor Part-time (30 guaranteed paid hours/week) up to $600 per week

    Position Details:

    This is a part-time position with a minimum of 30 guaranteed paid hours per week, excluding designated non-work weeks between instructional sessions. This position also requires travel to various partner locations, across the greater Cedar Park/Leander area, each week.

    The majority of position hours from August to May are after-school (between 12pm and 8pm) in Cedar Park and surrounding areas, including North Austin, Leander, Liberty Hill, west Georgetown, and Round Rock. Summer hours will be between 9am and 5pm.

    The primary focus of this position will be to teach Snapology programs, including robotics with coding, while promoting creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students ages 2-14 on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts.

    Curriculum, materials, and paid training are provided.

    The ability to transport equipment, set up and/or arrange furniture in order to prepare the room for class is essential.

    Appropriate county health guidelines will be followed in the event of any health concerns in the area.

    Work assignments may include:

    Birthday Parties (weekends)

    Workshops/ Classes/ Special Events (evening or weekends)

    Field Trips

    Non-school day/teacher work day programs

    New program training

    Kit inventory

    General materials prep

    Community outreach

    Spring, Summer, Winter Break Camps

    Other projects or programs as assigned by supervisor

    Qualifications:

    Criminal and Child Clearances including background checks and fingerprint scanning (through Texas HHS Dept) must be current (completed within the last 12 months) and submitted by candidate, at candidate's expense

    First Aid & CPR training (required) at candidate's expense

    Driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and current insurance to transport materials required

    2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment

    High School diploma or equivalent required, Education degree or teaching experience preferred, those pursuing a degree in education are encouraged to apply

    Excellent time and classroom management skills

    Comfortable working with LEGO® bricks and technology

    Familiarity with coding and robotics preferred

    Report to work on a regular and punctual basis

    Role & Responsibilities:

    Facilitate Snapology programs, including after-school programs, camps, workshops, birthday parties and other special events, for small and large groups students through curriculum-guided activities

    Manage student use of learning materials and behavior while maintaining discipline in the classroom

    Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching accordingly

    Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos, participating in face-to-face training sessions and/or practicing with materials

    Present lessons in an engaging way that promotes creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

    Effectively communicate with parents, including sharing photos and videos via our designated platform

    Collaborate with Snapology Leadership and support staff, including periodic training or staff meetings

    Maintain professional manner in dress, personal appearance, and communication with students, parents, and community partners

    This position is part-time. STEAM Instructor and Enrichment Program Facilitator employee will be guaranteed pay for 30 hours per week, excluding non-work weeks, with opportunities to work additional hours as they are available.
