    Deputy Center Director

    At STGi, the Deputy Center Director for Social Development holds a pivotal role in the Pathway Achievement Career Training (PACT) framework. This position is dedicated to planning, organizing, and overseeing the diverse activities pivotal to achieving the objectives of the Job Corps Center's social development department.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Collaborates in the planning, organization, and execution of programs and activities essential for the effective functioning of the social development sector of the Job Corps Center.
    • Supports the seamless delivery of academic, vocational training, and transitional career services to students under the PACT initiative.
    • Regularly evaluates departmental operations to determine areas needing additional support or modifications, subsequently implementing necessary changes.
    • Fosters and maintains relationships with community leaders, as well as with various social, religious, civic, and service organizations.
    • Assists in the formulation and oversight of the departmental budget, ensuring provisions for current and upcoming activities.
    • Delivers timely and accurate reports and keeps other area directors and managers apprised of important matters.
    • Upholds Center safety and security by adhering to prescribed guidelines.
    • Nurtures open communication channels between students and staff, ensuring a harmonious and transparent information flow across the center.
    • Ensures strict compliance with DOL guidelines and all STGi policies and procedures.
    • Actively pursues the achievement of performance standard goals, while advocating for a clean and organized workspace.
    • Regularly evaluates team members, providing constructive feedback, and offers recommendations related to staff promotions, development, and other pertinent HR matters.
    • Undertakes temporary assignments in other departments as directed by the Deputy Center Director.

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Employees must regularly sit, stand, walk, reach, talk, and listen.
    • Occasional requirements include sitting, hand movements (fingering, handling), tasting, and smelling.
    • The role involves lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.
    • Vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
    • The role occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
    • While the general noise level is moderate, it can occasionally become loud.
    • Accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.

    Required Skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, notably Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
    • Strong leadership, management, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
    • Four years of experience in program management and direction, with a focus on youth programs. Previous Job Corps experience is an advantage.
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve satisfactory levels of organizational performance.
    • Must hold a valid State Driver’s License

    Required Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized four-year college or university.
    • Master’s Degree or a graduate degree in Business or Public Administration is desirable.
    • Relevant experience can be considered in lieu of specific educational requirements.
