Qualifications
- Must undergo and pass an initial drug test and subsequent random drug tests in accordance with the requirements of s. 112.0455 and the sheriff's office, school district, or charter school board, as applicable.
- Must pass a psychological evaluation administered by a licensed psychologist under Chapter 490 and designated by the Department of Law Enforcement and submit the evaluation results to the sheriff's office, school district, or charter school board, as applicable. Law enforcement agencies are authorized to provide mental health and substance abuse data to the sheriff's office, school district, or charter school board to comply with this paragraph.
- Must successfully complete ongoing training, weapon inspection, and firearms qualification at least once a year and provide documentation to the sheriff's office, school district, or charter school board, as applicable.
- Able to stand, walk, and move in and out for long periods.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.

$15 for 144 hours of training
$22 after graduation
$24 after 90 years of contract
