Scope of Work:
Five-year project replacing highway retaining walls. There will likely be winter shutdowns throughout this project from December to March.
Responsibilities :
In addition to being able to function effectively as part of a team, a successful applicant will need to:
- Develop and implement Task-Specific Safe Work Plan (SWP) and Toolbox Talks.
- Implement the Health and Safety Plan (HASP)
- Ensure that all Federal, State and local safety and health regulations are being implemented.
- Conduct daily and weekly safety meeting with the workforce and management.
- Lead in incident investigation and development of corrective action(s).
- Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
- Be Independent, Reliable, and Dependable
- Demonstrate ability to use Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Display willingness to learn and participate in company-wide systems for project tracking, communication, etc.
Qualifications
Applicants for the position Must Have:
- Heavy highway, trench and excavation, and shoring experience
- Experience working on an EPA Brownfield where legacy trace metals and chemicals are presumed to exist in the soil
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
- 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training
- 8-hour HAZWOPER supervisory training
- One Year Experience in personal and respiratory protective equipment program implementation
- Experience with the proper use of air monitoring instruments, air sampling methods and procedures
- Certification training in first aid and CPR by a recognized, approved organization such as the American Red Cross
- Must have an occupational physical exam.
- OSHA Construction 30-hour card within the last 5 years
