In this position you will be required to ensure the behavior of the crew (when working on a client site) is in accordance with company safety culture. A qualified candidate understands the lagging and leading safety indicators and promotes a philosophy that achieves established goals. You must have knowledge of job site/area specific safety requirements, safety equipment, material procurement, training requirements and tracking of training.
Responsibilities as a Safety Manager - Must be able to manage and enforce Site Safety Programs for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage. By using and enforcing job specific safety standards, best management practices, and Site-Specific safety program, the Safety Manager shall ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site resulting in an accident/incident free project.
Site Details -
Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations (including OSHA), as well as Site Specific policies and owner/contractual requirements.
Conduct daily and/or weekly (as appropriate or specified by job) job site inspections.
Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
Investigate, corroborate, document, all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.
Conduct weekly "Toolbox Safety Meeting' and document content and attendance.
Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees.
Advise project staff on site specific safety issues/guideline
Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations

Minimum Requirements -
Thorough knowledge of Construction Industry methods and OSHA standards.
OSHA 30 Construction Industry Certification, OSHA 500 and/or its equivalent
5-10 years safety experience in construction industry.
Bilingual (Spanish)
Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows.
