Job Title: Safety Manager
Compensation: $105,000 - $120,000 Annual Salary
The base salary or hourly wage range for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. About the Role:
Contributes to Din Tai Fung's safety function to minimize organizational hazards (across products, equipment, and operational processes) and risks to employee health and safety. Supports all West Coast locations with the opportunity to oversee multiple regions as the company grows. This position will work closely with all levels of management and hourly employees to ensure safe, and healthy work standards and methodologies are communicated and targeted goals are achieved through individual as well as team-based objectives and strategies. This person will also serve as a catalyst and expert resource to promote and develop an innovative and proactive safety culture within our organization.
Responsibilities:
Provides expertise for local management regarding environmental, safety, and health issues and applicable regulations
Advises and assists local management in implementing, managing, and auditing within the framework of an innovative Health and Safety Management System in a food manufacturing and restaurant setting
Implements programs to train managers, supervisors, and employees in work safety, practices, incident prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
Being an active figure in shifting our safety culture from rules and regulatory compliance to a safety culture developed as a behavior-driven value at all levels of the organization
Develops and implementation of weekly/monthly safety communication to operations and the whole organization
Provides oversight expertise for incident investigations, development of corrective plans, and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence
Ensures timely reporting and claims management for workers' compensation, general liability, and automotive liability
Works to develop and standardize work processes, standards, and equipment throughout the area
Influences management decisions to positively affect the outcome of safety and business in the area
Communicates frequently and consistently with the Area operational leadership and the Risk Director on areas of concern and performance metrics
Works closely with regional leadership to develop programs and plans as required
Assists individual facilities with the completion of goals and objectives as well as training verification
Participates and/or conducts quarterly and monthly safety meetings for departments
Prepares studies and analyses of company injury trends for senior leader review and action
Provides and updates information, signs, posters, barriers, and materials to warn of potential and actual health and safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions
Leads the investigation of accidents, and injuries, and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in court hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations
Manage Workers' Compensation Claims and Early Return-to-Work process.
Work with claims administrators to effectively manage and close claims
Conducts special training that is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (CAL-OSHA)
Updates and audit Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for each location
Coordinate New Employee Orientation online training to be in compliance with federal and State agencies

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Level
Over 6 years of Risk and Safety experience in the Food Manufacturing or Restaurant industry
Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) and/or Spanish preferred
Able to travel (50%)
Read, understand, and follow the Employee Handbook and all company policies and procedures
Google Suite - (Excel, Word, Publisher, Power Point) required
Highly motivated and able to adapt to change
Exemplary written and oral communication and organization
Positive and Professional Attitude
