    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    The Safety Trainer is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of EHS training programs. This person will be a collaborative communicator with the safety team members, as well as with the entirety of the organization. Safety is First: Our People Come First!

    Must have prior safety training and manufacturing experience

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • 1st Responsibility – Ensuring personal safety and the safety of team members.
    • Wears appropriate PPE, which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
    • Proactively promotes The McWane Way principles.
    • Provide services that require Excellent presentation, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and EPA regulations.
    • Create and deliver hands-on, instructor-led, and virtual training sessions for groups of various sizes and backgrounds, focused on EHS impact.
    • Coordinate industrial equipment to perform for hands-on demonstrations and evaluations
    • Coordinate and facilitate the on-boarding efforts of new hires/operators and update new material as needed.
    • Maintain Safety Documentation in compliance with M&H Valves document retention requirements.
    • Coordinates training courses, including classroom preparations.
    • Manages data in spreadsheets, keeps records and prepares reports
    • Remain current with industry training trends.
    • Facilitate programs that enhance safety capabilities throughout the organization
    • Updates and provides training materials to managers and/or employees
    • Supervises and manages personnel performing administrative duties to track completion of training, scheduling of classes and resources, compile and prepare statistical information on training program status.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted.
    • One-year experience in safety engineering or management in a heavy manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of federal, state and local safety standards and regulations.
    • Solid computer experience which include proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
    • Ability to maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
