We are currently seeking a highly skilled Sales Application Engineer to join our team and drive the adoption of our innovative Al Visioning Camera Technology in the forklift industry. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a pivotal role in positioning our solutions as the premier choice for enhancing workplace safety. This position preferably works in a team environment at our office in Lexington, KY, but will consider a remote option if the candidate is located near a major airport (e.g., ATL, Chicago, Detroit, CLT, Dallas, etc.).
This position reports to the Vice President of Industrial Sales.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with OEMs and B2B customers in the forklift industry. Actively listen to their needs and challenges, and tailor our solutions to address their specific requirements.
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies, leveraging your deep understanding of the forklift industry and our AI Visioning Camera technology. Educate customers on the benefits of our solutions, overcome objections, and guide them through the sales process to achieve successful outcomes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on our AI Visioning Camera technology, providing technical guidance and support to both customers and internal teams. Ensure seamless integration of our solutions into customers' existing systems.
- Promote the software-as-a-service (SaaS) component of our AI Visioning Camera solutions, highlighting the value of ongoing updates, support, and scalability. Leverage your experience in SaaS sales to effectively communicate the benefits of our subscription-based model to customers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with OEMs and B2B customers. Serve as a trusted advisor, providing exceptional customer service and fostering repeat business.
- Be prepared to travel up to 80% of the time to meet with customers, provide on-site support, and attend industry events.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in a technical sales role.
- Proven track record of success in the forklift or material handling industry, with a deep understanding of customer needs and challenges.
- Experience selling SaaS products, with a strong grasp of the benefits and value proposition of subscription-based models.
- Strong sales skills, including the ability to build rapport, overcome objections, and close deals effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of AI technology, particularly in the context of safety applications like pedestrian avoidance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on finding innovative solutions to customer challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Travel is required for this position, with an expectation of traveling 3 to 4 days per week.
