Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Sales Associate and potentially a Lead Sales Associate. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and sales, with a knack for handling cash transactions efficiently and be able to supervise other workers and assist with inventory management and merchandising of products.

Knowledge: Basic mathematics, cash register, knowledge of local area and current events and product are encouraged

Function: Manage cash register and credit card machine, support customer requests and inquiries, maintain clean appearance in shop, stock products for display constantly, assist in inventory management by ordering and checking in merchandise, assist with merchandising products in the store and setting up product displays,

Cleanliness and Maintenance: Dusting, cleaning windows, cleaning cooler windows, sharing restroom cleanings, mopping, organizing product displays, outside window and ledge cleaning,

Physical Requirements: Lifting boxes up to 40 pounds (soda cases), moving retail and product boxes within shop areas, removing trash from shop and carrying to shop area trash bin, ladder to reach high retail items,

Electronic daily practices: Courteous phone etiquette, cash register and credit card machines,

Customer Service: Smile with friendly tone for customers, inquisitive (but friendly) questions to obtain customers' origins and needs to get a "pulse" on demand, follow up for requests, understand what patrons are looking for and substitute with options available in store, patience, recognize repeat customers,

Character: Initiative to complete assigned tasks, open and respectful communication with team, friendly, creativity encouraged, ideas are welcome, HAVE FUN!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping

Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures.

Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer sales.

Collect payments by cash and credit card

Issue receipts to customers

Take added responsibility for stocking, inventory, and store maintenance.

Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.

Develop and maintain solid product knowledge in order to best help customers with their selections.

Qualifications

Associates or higher degree preferred

Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively

Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service

Willingness to work well in a team environment

Ability to quickly and accurately work a register

Willingness to work a flexible schedule
