Position Overview:
Timmreck & McNicol Jewelers is a 4th-generation, majority female-owned fine jewelry store with a strong community-first, family-first philosophy. We are looking for a part-time Sales Associate who is passionate about jewelry and creating meaningful experiences for customers.
This customer-facing role offers a base pay of $16/hour plus 3% commission on personal sales, a yearly bonus, and opportunities for travel to jewelry buying conventions after one year of employment. We provide an 80% employer-contributed healthcare plan, full dental coverage, and educational reimbursement for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and assist them in their jewelry selections, ensuring a personalized shopping experience.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of fine jewelry, including materials, styles, and trends, to educate customers effectively.
Utilize basic math skills to accurately process transactions and manage sales.
Maintain an organized and visually appealing display of merchandise, ensuring stock is replenished as needed.
Engage with customers through active listening, understanding their needs and preferences to provide tailored recommendations.
Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing product and service information while maintaining excellent phone etiquette.
Analyze sales data, utilizing retail math skills to enhance store efficiency.
Assist in store cleaning and merchandising tasks to uphold a polished and welcoming retail space.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in customer service or retail sales is a plus.
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse clientele; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Basic math proficiency for handling transactions and managing inventory effectively.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of service.
A genuine interest in fine jewelry and a desire to learn about new products and trends in the industry.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Part-time position: Thursday through Saturday availability required.
Store hours: Tuesday through Saturday (closed Sunday & Monday).
Staff begin work at 10am and end their shift at 6:30pm.
This role requires standing for extended periods and handling delicate jewelry pieces.
Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 40 lbs when assisting with displays or merchandise.
