Project Bidding:
- Distribute, log, and maintain Invitations to bid, plans, RFIs, addendums and other bid documents both internally and externally
- Source vendors, trades and small contractors
- Maintain and track estimating bid reports
- Review RFP’s for all insurance requirements, requests for bid bonds, builder’s risk etc.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Subcontractors
- Create Invitations to bid for Projects
- Bid solicitation, follow up on phone calls with Subcontractors to ensure maximum/outstanding bid coverage
- Attend Bid Walks when necessary
- Participate in bid reviews with project management team
- Place Subcontractor bids into the appropriate folder within the assigned job number
- Prepare Bid Forms for submission
- Maintain Estimating Schedule/Calendar, including Bid Due Dates and Job Walk-Through Dates
Subcontractor Management
- Maintain Subcontractor database. Seek out “New Bidders” for the database
- Pre-qualify Subcontractors
- Contact Suppliers/Vendors for pricing on materials. Maintain the Supplier database
- Assist Subcontractors in obtaining the information they need to bid
- After each project is awarded, email Subcontractors who did not get awarded the job, a letter of regret
Position Requirements and Qualifications
- 1-2 years’ experience in construction estimating department preferred
- Strong math/analytical skills, impeccable problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet critical deadlines and manage time efficiently
- Excellent skills with MS Word and Excel; On-Screen Takeoff software experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills and able to effectively communicate with all sub-contractors, employees, and clients
