Our busy hotel is looking for an enthusiastic leader with great sales skills and a customer-focused approach to be our next sales manager. You will add passion and creativity to our sales team, as well as build a strategy to reach and exceed revenue targets through outside sales calls, on-site visits and sales tours, and community networking. You will also be able to increase sales by monitoring local market trends and competitor activity in order to find and close business leads. Responsibilities: • Supports the director of sales and marketing in preparing the department budget as well as the hotel's overall sales goals and strategy • Analyze local market trends and competitor activity to identify business leads • Establish and grow our market share by developing and maintaining relationships with major group and catering clients • Conduct yourself as a professional representative of the hotel at various industry tradeshows, conferences, and adhere to the guidelines of the budget and marketing plan • Generate new business, close deals, and increase revenue by cold calling, on-site visits and sales tours, and community networking • An Executive Meeting Manager is directly responsible for selling and maintains a weekly/monthly quota for sales call solicitations and revenue goals, the person in this position is a major part of the success of the department and client satisfaction. • This position requires someone who has the initiative and flexibility to take on new tasks, be proactive, creative, self motivated, detail oriented, and most importantly a team player that shares our department's mission to be the best of the best. Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience in sales management or in a leadership role in the sales department, preferably in hospitality • Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in business or a similar field a plus • Stays organized and manage time well • This position requires previous work experience in a hospitality role • Demonstrated exceptional social, verbal, and negotiating abilities • Prior event, catering, or convention services experience. • Upbeat personality. • Strong attention to detail. • Proactive approach.
