Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated and reliable Sales/Service Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for communicating with customers, preparing service estimates and billing using Dockmaster software, and helping with the hauling and delivery of boats at the boat ramp. This position requires someone comfortable with towing boats and who maintains a clean driving record.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers and assess their service needs, including boat repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
Use Dockmaster software to create accurate service estimates, work orders, and process billing.
Manage customer inquiries and provide updates on the status of their service requests.
Coordinate with the service manager to ensure work is completed on time and according to customer specifications.
Assist with hauling and delivering boats to and from the boat ramp.
Safely tow boats to and from the service facility, ensuring proper loading and unloading.
Ensure all customer records, service histories, and billing information are accurate and updated in the system.
Address customer concerns or complaints in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in marine services or customer service is a plus.
Experience in a service writing, sales, or customer service role, ideally within the marine industry.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn Dockmaster software for estimates, billing, and service management.
Comfortable with towing boats and maintaining a clean driving record (valid driver's license required).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic office software.
Knowledge of marine services, boat parts, and equipment is a plus.
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment or materials as needed.
