The Sales Specialist is a staff member of the Agency and not an employee of American Family Insurance.
Summary
The Sales Specialist markets and sells American Family Insurance products, builds and maintains customer relationships, supports targeted marketing and lead generation, and promotes brand awareness through community involvement.
Insurance Sales
Support agency growth by selling insurance products to new customers.
Proactively cross-sell to existing customers.
Prospect for new business through various leads and networking methods.
Secure new business through individual effort.
Prepare quotes and deliver presentations to close sales with prospective customers.
Conduct account reviews with current customers.
Meet and exceed sales goals.
Comply with underwriting guidelines.
Marketing
· Develop and implement marketing strategies.
· Coordinate marketing programs for the agency.
· Ensure alignment with brand marketing strategies for lead generation.
· Analyze marketing efforts and adjusts based on ROI.
· Manage online platforms and social media content, interactions, and advertising.
Community Development
· Develop a network of community contacts.
· Research opportunities and manages agency sponsored special events.
· Coordinate outreach and engagement efforts.
Company and Brand Promotion
Develop and maintain community contacts to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities.
Participate in events designed to promote brand awareness and educate consumers.
Insurance Service
Retain customers by providing excellent customer experiences.
Complete requested account and policy updates.
Coordinate with agency or business partners to resolve customer issues.
Knowledge and Skill Development
· Continually improve knowledge in the insurance industry, products, underwriting requirements, sales, customer service and supporting technology
· Participate in continuing education and professional designation programs
Education/Licenses/Designations
· Required by state statutes to have proper insurance licensing to sell, solicit or negotiate insurance products. The following lines of authority are required for this position: Property; Casualty; and Life; (Health is optional)—Minnesota and Wisconsin required
· Maintain active licenses in applicable states through continuing education (CEs)
· Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications
· Sales experience.
· Experience in the insurance industry.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, finance, or related field.
Working Conditions
· General office setting (hybrid work environment optional)
· Traditional office schedule but non-typical schedules (evenings or weekends) may be necessary on occasion for customer and events.
