    The Salon Manager is responsible for the seamless day-to-day operations of Thomas Taft Salon, ensuring a professional, fun, and collaborative environment for both employees and clients. You will play a pivotal role in maximizing profitability, overseeing all aspects of salon management from staff scheduling to executing in-salon events. This includes managing payroll, the full hiring process, and driving the salon’s growth through creative marketing strategies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Client Scheduling & Experience: Oversee client appointment scheduling for three salon locations, ensuring a smooth journey from booking to checkout.

    Hiring Process Management: Lead the entire hiring process from start to finish, including candidate sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and training.

    Staff Payroll: Manage payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

    Team Scheduling: Develop and manage employee work schedules, ensuring proper staffing to meet business needs.

    Employee Relations: Foster a positive, collaborative team atmosphere and serve as a first point of contact for employee concerns, acting as a liaison between staff and upper management.

    Supply & Facility Maintenance: Ensure the salon is well-stocked with supplies and properly maintained, addressing minor repairs and upkeep as needed.

    Marketing & Event Planning: Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to execute marketing campaigns and plan in-salon events designed to engage clientele and drive business growth.

    Client & Employee Issue Resolution: Address and resolve client and employee concerns promptly and professionally.

    Profitability Management: Utilize CRM software to analyze performance data, manage inventory, and maximize profitability.

    Business Growth: Identify and initiate business-to-business partnerships for cross-promotion opportunities.

    Sales & Performance Improvement: Work closely with upper management to uphold existing sales standards while actively driving new sales growth.

    Employee Check-ins: Conduct weekly check-ins with staff to provide support, feedback, and ensure a positive working environment.

    Data Management: Organize and prepare reports for quarterly staff meetings, using data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

    Event Leadership: Plan and manage quarterly salon events and other promotional activities, creating energy and excitement around new goals and projects.

    Requirements:

    Minimum of three years managing a creative team of 10+ employees.

    Experience with payroll management and hiring processes.

    Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Availability to work Wednesday through Saturday and alternate Sundays, with flexibility to adapt to seasonal business demands.

    Knowledge of NYC labor laws and salon sanitation regulations.

    Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

    Proficiency in spreadsheets, CRM software, and other management tools.

    Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and capable of leading by example.
