    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Sampling Agent is responsible for routine sampling. This includes but is not limited to the random, and representative collection of cannabis and cannabis products submitted for compliance sampling including additional non-random sampling for Research & Development (R&D) purposes. This position is responsible for the secured transportation of samples submitted to the laboratory for testing and the maintenance of the laboratory’s physical inventory of cannabis and cannabis products, as defined by the State of Florida's regulatory body. The Sampling Agent is expected to exercise reasonable discretion within the performance of all professional duties. The position requires substantial travel to perform off-site work and maintaining a safe driving record.

    SAMPLING AGENT RESPONSIBILITIES

    The sampling agent's responsibilities include traveling to customer sites, collecting cannabis samples using aseptic technique and documenting appropriate information on chain of custodies and manifests in order to transfer the samples securely back to the laboratory. This position is also responsible for performing general duties throughout the lab including but not limited to sample preparation, receiving supplies and general administrative tasks as assigned. Strict adherence to organizational policies related to use of company vehicle is required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Applicants must:

    • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
    • Have a clean driving record and reliable vehicle
    • Be at least 21 years old
    • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Pass a criminal background check
    • Industry experience preferred but not required.
    • 2 years of customer service experience (preferred)

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Perform random, representative and compliant sample collection of cannabis and cannabis products submitted for laboratory testing, as required by the state-specific regulatory body.
    • Perform non-random sampling, as requested and allowable by the state-specified regulatory body, for Research & Development (R&D) purposes.
    • Provide safe handling, transportation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including completion of applicable performance checks of equipment used.
    • Timely transport of collected samples, without undue delay, in a manner mitigating risk of potential decomposition or degradation.
    • Sample inventory and tracking activities within the laboratory including but not limited to: Intake and accessioning, compliant cannabis destruction and completion of supporting laboratory documentation for compliance.
    • Assist in receiving supplies and following appropriate inventory processes, including stocking or re-stocking supply shelves, cataloging physical inventory of supplies and laboratory reagents, notifying Management of supply shortages and compliant documentation of associated forms and logs.
    • If allowable, prepare samples, independently, using aseptic techniques for test methods which the EMPLOYEE has been trained in and determined competent in, including compliant documentation of associated forms and logs.
    • Perform sample homogenization, as applicable.
    • Professionally interface with client and effectively relay information back to laboratory staff.

    GENERAL DUTIES

    • Comply with company policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with state cannabis regulations
    • Work in a timely manner and strives to improve quality and maintain accuracy
    • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT where essential functions of the job take place, may include:

    • Frequent contacts and interruptions during the day.
    • Video and/or audio surveillance for security purposes where laboratory activities are performed.
    • Use of personal protection equipment to limit exposure to chemicals or other hazards found within a laboratory environment.
    • Potential exposure to loud noises, fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
    • Extended time within a motor vehicle, either independently, or with another individual, as authorized by each state-specific requirements for cannabis laboratory sampling and secured transportation.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS employees may encounter to successfully perform essential duties may include:

    • Frequently standing, sitting, walking, reaching with arms and hands, use of hands, talking and hearing.
    • Occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling and lifting or moving up to 40lbs.
    • Frequently needing close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
    • Occasionally navigating through non-ambient environmental conditions during field-sampling.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

    Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
