Position: Staff Auditor Governmental Section – Newark NJ

Our audit team helps clients obtain, analyze, and understand the financial information need to manage their organization.

This individual will provide auditing and accounting services to clients with oversight from audit managers and partners. The individual will be responsible for organizing, conducting, and reviewing fieldwork. Familiarity with performing audits of New Jersey Municipalities and County Governments, School Boards, Authorities and Public Library’s is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing audit planning documents, financial statements and checklists.

• Accumulate financial and operational information

• Evaluate internal controls

• Analyze financial records for variances

• Complete and keep track of all audit work papers

• Identifies and communicates issues raised, with mangers and partners

• Obtains and reviews evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well-documented

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting

• A minimum of at least 0-3 years audit experience is required.  Should be preparing for or already passed the CPA examination

• Demonstrated ability to lead a small team and ensure successful results.

• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

• Able to manage workload efficiently and meet all deadlines

• Demonstrates initiative

• Strong team ethic

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office ( Excel and Word required)
