About Us
We are a distinctive establishment located on Smith Hill in Providence, RI, dedicated to providing exceptional service across our deli, nightspot, and catering operations. We are currently seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for those interested in gaining valuable experience in the food industry by working at our deli, nightspot "Speakeasy," and catering department.
While prior experience is a plus, we also welcome individuals who are passionate about the food industry and eager to learn. The position offers a minimum of 25-35 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours across our various operations. Responsibilities
Prepare sandwiches according to customer orders, ensuring the use of high-quality ingredients and attention to detail.
Perform cashier duties, including processing customer orders and payments, while delivering exceptional customer service.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Assist with inventory management, restocking, and product rotation as needed.
Provide support during catering events, both on-site and off-site, as required.
Adapt to various roles, including working as a sandwich maker during the day and assisting at the Speakeasy during evening shifts.
Requirements
A strong desire to learn and contribute in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Excellent multitasking abilities, with the capability to manage both deli and cashier responsibilities effectively.
Strong communication and customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for all customers.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable transportation (either residing within 1 mile or having access to a vehicle).
Qualifications
Previous experience in a fast-paced food service environment
Proficiency in using POS systems, particularly Aloha and Micros
Strong customer service skills with a focus on communication and upselling
Knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices
Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently
Understanding of basic math for cash handling and transactions

Work Schedule
Mondays possible for additional hours
Tuesdays-Friday: 9:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Compensation
$16.00 per hour, plus a guaranteed minimum tip average of $2.00 per hour (equating to a minimum of $18.00 per hour). Staff generally makes more than $18 per hour depending on tip average.
