    POSITION SUMMARY - SAW MACHINE OPERATOR

    The Saw operator is responsible for handling the saw requirements for the plant, cutting raw material to specification. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment. This role works independently and is expected to be self-driven. The ability to read production drawings is important.

    CURRENTLY AVAILABLE SHIFTS - SAW MACHINE OPERATOR

    • 2nd shift:  2pm - 10:30pm Mon - Fri
    • 3rd shift: 10pm - 6:30am Starting Sunday night through Friday morning.

    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES - SAW MACHINE OPERATOR:

    • Set up and operate the automatic production saw to meet production needs.
    • Verification of conformance to specifications by reading blueprints and using tape measure, calipers, micrometers, or other tools.
    • Load raw material using a forklift, side loader, or overhead crane.
    • Must identify, store, stack, organize, and stage products.
    • Replace defective cutting blade or wheel and other preventative maintenance as required.
    • Completes and maintains paperwork on materials using basic computer applications.
    • Package finished goods using proper procedures and transport to the staging area.
    • Assists in other work areas as required, and applicable to skill set.
    • Keep an organized work area to maintain a productive and safe work environment.
    • Interact with production supervisors to communicate progress and take additional instruction.

    REQUIREMENTS - SAW MACHINE OPERATOR

    • High School diploma or equivalent GED
    • 1+ years of experience in heavy metal fabrication; saw operation preferred
    • Quality minded with a high mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and imperial measurements to metric
    • Ability to read and write English
    • Ability to stand or sit for long periods
    • Ability to lift 75 lbs
    • Ability to take ownership of work
