    JOB TITLE: School Administrator

    REPORTS TO: CEO, Sanga Educational Partners

    EMPLOYED BY: Sanga Educational Partners

    Position Summary:

    Under the direction of the CEO, the school administrator provides leadership for the instructional program and coordinates the implementation, review, and revision of the curriculum at the building level. Manages the operation and all functions of the school building. Supervises school staff regarding instruction, curriculum, student programs and issues, family programs and issues, and building operat

    ions. Leads the site improvement process.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master’s degree in education or related academic field

    A minimum of (3) years’ experience working in schools

    A minimum of (5) years administrative experience in K-8 education

    The individual meets the requirements of MCL 380.1246(3) or has a work plan in place to receive administration certification

    Bilingual/ESL endorsement preferred

    Evidence of increasing student academic achievement

    Demonstrated competence of bilingual education preferred

    Demonstrated management/leadership skills

    Fluency in Spanish, highly desirable

    Submit to a criminal background check and be found without record.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Monitor Instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related to the school’s mission, vision, core values, and program outcomes. Use findings to take corrective action

    Completes and maintains authorizer, MDE, ISD, and school-level compliance-related reports and submits in a timely and accurate manner

    Represents the school at Board Meetings, authorizer, ISD, MDE, and community meetings

    Supervises and evaluates certified staff, ensuring the proper elements of instruction are implemented; coordinates the teacher supervision and evaluation process with the assistant principal

    Evaluates the assistant principal and other school leadership

    Supervises instructional support staff and custodial staff (in conjunction with administrative manager) in the performance of their duties

    Manages staff and program improvement processes, as well as the Instructional staff professional development

    Manages, analyzes and interprets data, including assessment results, for school improvement purposes

    Leads the school leadership team through at least two strategic planning sessions in an academic year

    Develop and set annual performance goals for the three areas: Academic, Instruction and School Culture

    Works with Dean of Culture to develop a conscious, progressive discipline system that promotes positive student behavior

    Maintain a small coaching caseload of teachers and assign coaching relationships to other members of the school leadership team.

    Interviews, selects, and orients new staff. Assign personnel to grade-level/work assignment

    Make recommendations to Sanga on termination, suspension, or nonrenewal of employees assigned to campus

    Work in collaboration with Sanga and the School Leadership team to plan professional development activities

    Define expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies, classroom management, and communication with the public

    Provide oversight and coordination of special education and technology

    Oversee staff purchase requests for school-based approval

    Manages all building security and staff procedures, including evacuation and emergency plans. Implements school’s yearly drill schedule

    Interprets Sanga policies related to staff and students

    Manages field trips, out-of-state trips, and related transportation requests.

    Support the development of school budget based on documented program needs, estimated enrollment, personnel and other fiscal needs. Keep programs within budget limits

    Maintains communication and relations with parents in a culturally appropriate manner, ensuring families are kept involved with and held accountable for their children’s academic and behavioral performance.

    Foster collegiality and team building among staff members. Encourage their active involvement in decision-making process
