    Job Description

    Global Packaging Container Company, located in North Branch NJ is searching for a Human Resources Manager.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Staffing logistics;
    • Organizational development and space planning;
    • Performance management and improvement systems;
    • Employee orientation, development, and training;
    • Policy development and documentation;
    • Compensation and benefits administration and regulatory reporting;
    • Employee services and counseling;

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Partners with leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy including budgeting.

    • Provides support in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.

    • Manages the development and maintenance of the HR employee portal and maintains employee databases.

    • Assists with the implementation and oversight of the performance management system and employee development programs.

    • Assists with employee training system including onboarding, employee development, and production cross-training, including supervising in-house and outside consultants and maintaining required employee training records.

    • Provides support and guidance in the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing and hiring of qualified applicants; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required.

    • Provide support and guidance to managers and staff to implement HR policies and progressive discipline system, including overseeing disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.

    • Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs, including OSHA compliance issues.

    • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits and monitor and implement company wage, salary structure and the variable pay systems.

    • Provides payroll processing and backup support including maintaining employee information.

    • Provide support with benefit administration including employee counseling on claim issues, employee orientation and benefits training.

    • Administers the 401(k) plan and completes yearly compliance reporting.

    • Administers disability and worker's compensation claims.

    • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies to maintain compliance

    • REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, coaching and conflict resolution skills.

    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping

    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS and talent management systems.

    • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or equivalent. Masters degree preferred.

    • Three to five plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.

    • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.

    • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred not required

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Must have ability to travel to company locations weekly to assist with on-site HR activities
